This Pokemon BDSP guide tells you everything you need to know about how to get Drifloon and if they, and their evolution Drifblim, are worth all the work to add to your Pokedex.
How to Get Drifloon in Pokemon BDSP
Drifloon shows up on Fridays outside the Valley Windworks. It won’t start appearing until you defeat Team Galactic and clear them out of the area, though, so don’t plan on using it in your challenge against the nefarious bowl-cut gangsters.
Wait until Friday rolls around again, and go back to the Windworks. You’ll find one there waiting.
The Ghost/Flying type has a substantial amount of HP and won’t be captured easily. Bring plenty of balls to catch this one.
This is the only Drifloon you’ll find. If you want more, you’ll have to bring it and a Ditto to the Pokemon Nursery and wait for the balloon and goo blob to create an Egg. Just don’t ask how it works (because nobody knows).
Is Drifloon Worth It in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl?
Drifloon and its evolution, Drifblim, are interesting choices if you want something different for your team, but they’re also difficult to recommend. Slow speed and middling stats for both attack and special attack mean it’s not the best Ghost Pokemon. It’s frail too, though makes up for low defense with an almost literal ton of HP.
On the bright side, you can teach Drifblim plenty of surprise moves, including Electric and Psychic types, to keep your opponents guessing.
